Laura Rathe Fine Art announces a solo exhibition featuring the work of renowned artist, Meredith Pardue. LRFA will be hosting the opening reception on Saturday, April 4th from 6-9pm at their River Oaks District gallery (4444 Westheimer).
Meredith Pardue’s springtime solo exhibition, I Am the Moon, is rooted in our relationship with the moon, and the inherent mystery and rituals that this rapport has inspired throughout human history. Pardue’s palette ranges from moody and dark monochromes to explosive saturation. The mark making of this body or work spans from brushwork reminiscent of mid-century abstract expressionists to raw, primitive strokes, most boldly evident in the dramatic asymmetrical diptych titled Cave. A few compositions with pod like forms seem to undulate around, within, and beyond the parameters of the canvas in what has become Pardue's signature aesthetic over the last decade.
This will be the premier exhibition that the original artwork purchase will be paired with its digital NFT twin. The NFT (non-fungible token) is not only an evolving form of art but is also a tradeable asset on the block chain market, which has recently exploded with the sale of Beeple’s NFT through Christie’s for an astounding $69.3 million.th
This solo exhibition will be on display through April 28 , 2021.
